Hello 5th Grade Families!
I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year. My favorite part about teaching is forming a relationship with each of my students. From day one, I tell them that, to me, they are the most important people in the school building. I will do my best each day to make sure their needs are being met, that they feel cared for, and safe.
This is my 19th year of teaching. I was so inspired by the teachers my 3 kids had that I decided to become a teacher after my oldest finished elementary school. This will be my 19th year of teaching. It is definitely one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
When I'm not teaching, I love time with my family. I'm fortunate that my adult children live nearby so that I get to see them often. I also have family in California and on the East Coast. We made a trip back East to see family this summer. I was then able to check a bucket list item off by traveling cross country with my sister from Philadelphia to Portland. Wow! What a beautiful country we live in. I was blown away by the miles and miles of corn fields, the landforms of South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Which is something I look forward to sharing with my class. Each year, we start Social Studies off by learning about the landforms of our country.
One of my biggest passions. is gardening. I love flowers of all kinds and I'm already planning for more of them in the Spring of 2024.
